Armed robbery probe

Nobody has yet been caught for an attempted armed robbery at a Bath bus depot which saw a security guard threatened with what is believed to have been a handgun.

Police are continuing their investigation into the incident at the First depot at Weston Island at around 6am on Friday, March 22.

Three masked man made off with a "significant amount of cash" and fled the scene in a getaway car past Odd Down Park and Ride.

The incident sparked a major police operation but there have not yet been any arrests.

Anyone who saw the silver Vauxhall Vectra, which was later found burnt out in a barn off the A367 at Upper Twinhoe, as it left the city down Combe Hay Lane, is asked to contact Bath CID on 101.

Meanwhile police have still not arrested anyone for an armed robbery at a Bath taxi firm, which happened back in February. Again, anyone with information about the crime, which took place at the V Cars office in Cheltenham Street at around 5.20pm on Monday, February 11, is asked to get in touch with police.
