Students at Ralph Allen School have been selected to take part in the Ten Tors Challenge next year.
This is the first time that Ralph Allen will have a team competing in the gruelling Dartmoor expedition, which is run by the army.
Ten students from year 11 will take part in the challenge, open to students aged 14 to 19.
Students at the school are offered the Duke of Edinburgh Award at all three levels and regularly take part in expeditions.
Next summer gold level students will take part in the school's first international expedition to the Pyrenees, together with students from Beechen Cliff School and Hayesfield School.
Jane Fox, Duke of Edinburgh coordinator said: "We have some very worthy students who could do very well in the challenge."
