Mayor of London Boris Johnson has been giving his support to South West Conservatives, including the party's parliamentary candidate in Bath Ben Howlett.
He was guest of honour at a gala campaign dinner at the Royal Bath and West Showground and gave a speech to more than 200 activists from across the Somerset area.
These included prospective MPs Mr Howlett, as well as James Heappey (Wells), David Warburton (Somerton and Frome) and Rebecca Pow (Taunton).
Mr Howlett said: "It is always a pleasure to welcome Boris to Somerset.
"The mayor has a strong connection with the county, given his father owns a farm here. Boris reaches out to people that are often overlooked by traditional politics, so it was great to hear his advice on turning Somerset blue in 2015."
