Marcus Trescothick will be biking to Bath next month – and local folk have the chance to join the Somerset CCC captain on his fundraising cycle ride.
The five-day Pedal for the Pavilion event will see Keynsham-born Trescothick and his Somerset team-mates bike 300 miles from St Austell in Cornwall to The County Ground in Taunton.
Their journey includes an overnight stay in Bath on Thursday, October 2 after a day which begins at Yeovil Town FC and finishes at Bath Rugby.
They will then head off from The Rec the following morning and head through Wells, Street and Glastonbury en route to their final destination.
Places are available on the ride at £50 per person, plus a minimum of £200 sponsorship per day. People can take part on as many days as they wish, with it getting under way on Monday, September 29.
All money raised will go to the Somerset Pavilion Appeal, paying towards a new facility designed to bring the County Ground up to the standard required to host international cricket.
Application forms can be downloaded from www.somersetcountycc.co.uk and more information is available by contacting somersetpavilionpedal@gmail.com or 0845 337 1875.
