Chris Walker-Hebborn won his second Commonwealth Games title and Siobhan-Marie O'Connor collected a sixth medal of an outstanding week as Bath swimmers ended their Glasgow 2014 campaigns on a high.

Both of their latest successes came in the 4x100m medley relays, with Walker-Hebborn - the 100m backstroke champion - leading England on their way to a storming gold in a new Games record of 3mins 31.51secs.

O'Connor, fresh from her 200m individual medley success, had earlier equalled the British 100m butterfly record on her leg as England pushed eventual champions Australia all the way in the women's final.

"I'm buzzing - that was the best relay I've ever been part of," Walker-Hebborn told the BBC. "A Commonwealth record and gold medal is more than I could have asked for, I'm so proud."

Walker-Hebborn swam the first leg and established a slight lead for England, which was maintained in style by team-mates Adam Peaty, Adam Barrett and Adam Brown.

O'Connor followed Lauren Quigley and Sophie Taylor in the women's race, taking over in the lead and extending it after a trademark flying start before Australian Emma McKeon closed the gap to 0.19secs.

Fran Halsall was not quite able to fend off the charge of Cate Campbell on the final freestyle leg but easily held on for silver, three seconds ahead of Canada.

"It was a really good race," said O'Connor, who finished the championships with one gold, four silver and a bronze.

"We knew we could give the Aussies a scare and we put up a really good fight."

A Wales quartet featuring British Gas NTC Bath swimmer Jemma Lowe, Georgia Davies, Chloe Tutton and Hannah McCarthy was disqualified.

Bath-based Calum Jarvis also represented Wales in the men's race, bringing home the team of Marco Loughran, Rob Holderness and Tom Laxton in sixth in 3:37.25.
