Bath-based swimmer Jemma Lowe was unable to make it a golden double for Wales in the Tollcross Swimming Centre after finishing outside the medals in the Commonwealth Games 200m butterfly final on Monday.
Lowe - who trains at the British Gas NTC Bath - was the second-fastest qualifier and looked well placed to challenge at the 150m stage but was unable to make up ground in the closing straight and touched the wall in fifth in 2mins 8.69secs.
Canada's Audrey Lacroix took gold in 2:07.61, with England's Aimee Wilmott winning her third medal of the games by finishing second in 2:08.07. Australia's Maddie Grove completed the podium in 2:08.44.
Jazz Carlin had earlier won Wales' first gold in the pool at Glasgow 2014 and the first by a Welsh woman in 40 years as she stormed to 800m freestyle victory.
