A child has come close to losing his finger after a loom band wrapped around it as the boy slept.
A doctor from Bristol has issued a warning to parents over safety fears about the popular bracelets as a result.
The doctor, a mother of three children herself, said on a mother's Facebook group, "Please be careful with looms - zoom in on the fingers - the parent of this child thankfully went in to check on him half an hour after lights out."
Loom bands are colourful elasticated bracelets. They have become a craze and children link together the rubber bands to make bracelets. You can use a loom or your fingers and a hook to create them.
Celebrities including The Duchess of Cambridge, former footballer David Beckham, One Direction's Harry Styles and the Duchess of Cornwall have all been pictured wearing bracelets.
