Police were called to a hotel in Bath this morning to investigate a serious sexual assault.
Officers arrived at the Halcyon Hotel in South Parade at around 2am after a woman in her 20s called to report that she had been sexually assaulted.
They will be taking a full statement from her in due course, and a 33-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the inquiry.
The man was today in custody awaiting questioning.
The hotel confirmed that there is an ongoing incident, but did not want to comment further.
Police inquiries are continuing, with forensic experts seen around the hotel earlier this morning.
