Head coach Mike Ford says Bath Rugby are close to confirming which of their out-of-contract players will be retained next season.
Wales back Gavin Henson and Ireland scrum-half Peter Stringer are among those whose current deals expire this summer.
Ford told BBC Radio Bristol: "We have spoken to them and you will know soon which way we go.
"The players know where they stand as far as recruitment and going forward next year.
"We promised players pre-Christmas that we will give them answers on whether we want to retain them or if we would release them.
"That has been done throughout the squad. We are forever looking to improve every part of the organisation, but recruitment is obviously a huge area where you have to get it right."
Henson signed a one-year deal at Bath last summer but has played just five Aviva Premiership games this term.
The 31-year-old has struggled with a calf injury since arriving at The Rec and has mainly featured for Bath United in the Aviva A League.
Henson made a rare start in Saturday's Amlin Cup win at Newport Gwent Dragons and revealed after the match that he would be open to a return to Wales if his Bath contract is not renewed.
Stringer arrived at Bath on a short-term deal last January and was rewarded with a full-time contract at the end of the season. Earlier this week, the 36-year-old told the Chronicle he is keen to stay at The Rec.
