Tom Biggs' cross-code move from Bath Rugby to Hull FC could be delayed, according to the Super League side's head coach Lee Radford.
Wing Biggs will start a rugby league career at the age of 29 in the new year after agreeing a move back to his native East Yorkshire.
But England's injury problems at wing ahead of the Six Nations could leave Bath short of cover during the tournament and he may now remain at The Rec until mid-March.
Radford told BBC Radio Humberside: "It would be a massive blow."
"Hopefully he will be here before [the season starts in] February, which would be a bonus for us. But it's a real difficult one, he's never 'played a ball' in his life, I don't think, so it will be real interesting to see how he goes.
"Hopefully he'll take to the game. One thing in his favour is he's energetic in the way he plays, he's really enthusiastic, and hopefully he can take that into our code."
