Abnormal load causing disruption on roads tomorrow

Traffic disruption is expected tomorrow when an abnormal load is on the roads. A specialised load transporter is being escorted by police from Whatley Quarry, near Frome to Buxton, in Derbyshire. The transporter load will measure 4.60 metres wide, and 4.95 metres high, with an overall length of 21.00 metres and a weight of 80 tonnes. Due to the size it will be slow moving, with the potential to create congestion. The journey will begin at 11am from Whatley Quarry where the load will be transported in convoy along the A361, A36 South, A303 Eastbound. Disruption will be kept to a minimum but motorists are asked to be patient if they come across the load. Anyone travelling during this time should allow sufficient additional time. The load cannot be transported over night due to public safety concerns.
