Grandparents have been sitting down to enjoy a school lunch with primary school children as part of a new partnership project.
The pilot scheme between Age UK B&NES and the Food for Life Partnership is designed to bring the generations together to share cooking skills and learn more about where their meals come from.
To launch the new initiative, older people were invited into Castle Primary School, in Keynsham, to share a roast dinner with pupils.
Age UK B&NES chief executive Janet Dabbs said she believed the partnership was a win-win situation for everyone involved, both young and old.
She said: "We hope to work with a number of schools across B&NES.
"Older people have so much to contribute to their local communities and working with schools in this way will benefit everyone involved."
