I realise it may be a little controversial to say so, but our Masonic Museum, wonderful as it is, has only a limited amount of space and there is so much more we could do with some aspects of our Masonic heritage providing our hypothetical new Heritage Centre had enough room.
I certainly think we could donate a full-sized installation to Emanuel Swedenborg, particularly since the 1844 New Church in Henry Street is no longer an active place of worship. I know the Swedish Freemasons had oodles of artefacts that could be proudly displayed, although I'm afraid I can't speak Swedish.
Also, now the last gas-holder is confirmed for demolition, all the more reason to have a proper permanent installation for the Bath Gas, Light and Coke Company, which would require a considerable amount of space, more than is available at any of our other museums.
I just think it would be nice to have a museum at the Twerton end of the city for a change, because Twerton rarely sees any benefit from the profits of the tourist industry, and I'm sure Twerton's pubs could seriously do with extra customers.
