Over-50s in Bath are being encouraged to brush up on their computer skills by signing up for Silver Surfers classes.
Age UK Bath and North East Somerset is running a new course which is aimed at complete beginners.
They will take place at St Michael's Centre, in Bath, and the next four-week course starts on Wednesday, September 4, and costs just £12.
More than 100 local older people have already benefited from the classes, run by a team of volunteers.
They teach the basics, including using laptop computers and new iPads, and aim to remove the fear that many people have when it comes to technology, computers and the internet.
Paula Smith, from Age UK B&NES, said: "Having computer skills is becoming more and more important and can make life much easier for people, allowing them to access information they need and keep in touch with family and friends.
"These courses are suitable for people who have little or no computing experience.
"Many people, even those who have computers at home, are daunted by the technology or lack confidence and this course will help tackle that."
