A new musical by Bath resident and city GP Dan Lashbrook called Pencoweth gets its world premiere at the Rondo Theatre in Bath in September. The musical backed by BMI Bath Clinic will open on September 25 and run for four nights.
Pencoweth is the second musical from Dan Lashbrook and Rob Pratt. Their first show, The Decent Rogues was awarded best musical by NODA and toured from July 2011 and had a run at The Bridewell Theatre, London.
Pencoweth is a tale set in 1850s Cornwall. The fishing community of this small harbour village strive to catch enough fish to secure food through the winter and when not at sea celebrate life with verve and fun at The Talisman Inn.
Two young fishermen Freddie and John set out to test the love of their fiancées Kerensa and Zelah, causing a string of events neither of them could have imagined.
Dan Lashbrook said: "We're extremely delighted that BMI Bath Clinic is once again supporting our new musical.
"With the hospital's backing for our first musical The Decent Rogues we were able to enjoy the success and the plaudits we did."
