Next stop for Bath Open Studios is Newbridge Arts Trail

Bath Open Studios is a collaborative group set up to raise the profile of the city's individual open studio events that takes place around Bath.

Last weekend Larkhall artists opened their doors to show visitors the work that was taking place in that area of Bath.

This weekend May 11 and 12 the Newbridge Arts Trail will be taking place from 10am to 5pm each day.

Newbridge Arts Trail is a community event open to everyone.

Now in its fourth year there will be 30 local artists and makers showing their work in their studios or local venues, all within walking distance of each other. There is also an exhibition of children's artwork at Newbridge Primary School and workshops in calligraphy and poetry at The Minerva Centre.

This is an annual event in which artists living in the Newbridge and Lower Weston areas of Bath open their homes or studios to the public.

The purpose is to create a community event and showcase the diverse range of work produced by local artists. Visitors can see the work, talk to the artists and have an insight into their creative processes. The work includes painting, printmaking, photography, sculpture, ceramics and jewellery, much of which is offered for sale at affordable prices.

Venues include private homes, studios and Newbridge School, where paintings by the children will be on show. Artist profiles, addresses and information about workshops and events can be found on the website: www.newbridgeartstrail.com.

A printed trail map, showing all locations, will be available from sponsors Chelsea Café, Chelsea Road Greengrocers, Interior Harmony Flooring and hairdressers Naughty But Nice (all in Chelsea Road), Andrews Estate Agents and the Weston (Newbridge Road), Genesis Lifestyle Centre (Station Road), Frontier Picture Frames (Locksbrook Road), Minuteman Press (Walcot Street) and the Bath Library. It can also be downloaded from www.newbridgeartstrail.com.

All-day refreshments are provided at pubs and cafes along the route and at some artist venues.
