Bath Croquet Club invite people to try the sport on open day at The Rec

People are being invited to take it to the hoop this weekend when Bath Croquet Club stage a charity open day in aid of Dorothy House Hospice Care. It is taking place at The Recreation Ground from 10am to 5pm on Saturday and all equipment will be provided by the club, although visitors are asked to wear flat-soled shoes. For those interested in learning more about the game, Bath are also running a five-week introduction to croquet course, which will run on Saturday mornings from May 18. More details about the events can be found at www.bathcroquet.com or by calling 01225 837615. Meanwhile, Bath's golf croquet team of captain Richard Mills, Thacher Alexander, Gordon Cottis and Daniel Mills put up a brave fight in Sunday's 13-7 away defeat at Nailsea. The hosts included three of the South West's top 20 players but Mills led by example for Bath, winning three and drawing one of his matches before claiming doubles victory.
