Grant Whitehead's sparkling net 64 won him the Evans Bowl at Lansdown Golf Club – and is bound to attract the attention of the handicap committee.
Division 1 was a very close affair, with Steve Buck just edging out Dave Whyte on countback after both shot net 70. Ken Madden was a stroke back in third, although he did record the best gross score of the day with a one over par 72.
David Stevenson won Division 2 with a net 68, one shot ahead of Tony Sardo, and Paul Patten was third on countback after five players scored 71.
Behind Whitehead in Division 3 was Shaun Kessler on 69, with Craig Sheppard claiming third place with a net 70.
In the ladies section, Jo Francis-Pope continued her excellent start to the year by winning the Caldicot Cup and Cleaver Salver with a net 71.
That was two shots ahead of Di Barwell, while third spot went to Suzanne Wheeler on 76.
Last week's medal competition was won by club champion Val McFarlane with a net 70 – she also recorded the lowest gross score of 75.
One shot back in second place was Clare Mornement and Jean Russell was third with a net 72.
The nine-hole competition on the same day was won by Sally Law with 17 points.
The top spots could only be decided on countback as Lansdown's seniors played their second medal of the year, with Dave Pearce pushing Mike George into second place after both shot an excellent net 66.
The other placings also had to be decided on countback after third-placed Ray Kimmings, Rex Parry and Geoff Ewans all scored 69.
Some seniors elected to play a nine-hole stableford competition on the same day, with Division 2 winner Mike Wells also claiming the overall honours with 16 points.
Ian Cornwell topped Division 1 with 15, while Rob Law matched that score as he won Division 3 on countback from George Harold.
