Video: Man in wheelchair shot by police marksmen in Keynsham

A man in a wheelchair was shot by police marksmen in Keynsham after threatening officers with a shotgun. The drama began after police were called to what has been described as a domestic incident in Minsmere Road in Keynsham at around 6pm yesterday evening. Neighbours said the man in a wheelchair, believed to be in his late 40s, confronted police with a shotun on his doorstep. He was shot in the leg by police and later taken to Frenchay Hospital in Bristol. Claire Stanley, Avon and Somerset Police spokeswoman, said: "We were called to a domestic incident involving a firearm in Minsmere Road, Keynsham, shortly after 6pm. "We attended the address and were threatened with a firearm. "A man was injured and was taken to hospital where he remains." A Great Western Ambulance spokeswoman said the man had been taken to the trauma unit at Frenchay Hospital with a leg injury. Minsmere Road remans closed this morning between Hurn Lane and Windrush Road.
