In-form Richard Longhurst scored a gross score of 80 to win the Paul Ware Medal at Bath Golf Club on Saturday.
Simon Freeman and Piers Rivington were close behind, both recording 81, with the top 16 gross scores qualifying for the final in autumn.
The nett score prizes went to Martin Warman (72) and Richard Young (73) in Division 1, Andrew Bady (69) and Oliver Gerrish (74) in Division 2 and William Ward (71) and Tony Booley (72) in Division 3.
Bath's ladies staged a Par competition, where Anita Bye won Division 1 from Ann Cook and Veronica Creed. Sue Jackson was the clear winner in Division 2, ahead of Honor Jones, while Katherine Ogden beat Tina Hoare to top spot in Division 3.
There were some impressive returns in the first round of the seniors' Assembly Cup, in which the two best scores out of the three rounds played count.
Leading the way with 66 was Tony Jones, one less than Alan Lewis, and Chris Wait beat Andrew Gaulter to third place on countback after both scored 68. Charles Donovan and Chris Perry filled the fifth and six places, both on 70.
Meanwhile, Bath's good run in club matches came to an end with a narrow 3&2 defeat to Cumberwell Park.
