Bath Rugby are set to be without key pair Matt Banahan and Carl Fearns for Saturday's Amlin Cup quarter-final at home to Stade Francais after both picked up injuries in the weekend Aviva Premiership win over London Welsh. Centre Banahan scored the first of Bath's five tries at The Rec on the way to a 40-25 victory but was withdrawn after just 15 minutes after injuring his right knee in a heavy tackle. The 26-year-old was previously ruled out for two months after suffering a similar injury against London Wasps in the second game of the season. Flanker Fearns lasted an hour at The Rec on Saturday before departing due to a hamstring problem. First-team coach Mike Ford said both players are unlikely to be fit in time for this weekend's European clash and hoped the injuries would not cause long-term absences. "Matt is going to be struggling for next week and Carl Fearns too," said Ford. "With Carl it's his hamstring and Banners is knee and ankle. "The medics will have a look and will rehab now and we'll get a clearer picture probably on Tuesday or Wednesday. "The signs are not good in those first two to three hours but we will see what they are like after 48 hours. "Matt just said he was sore and I don't think he's done anything that will need an operation or anything like that."
