The picture postcard village of Castle Combe has been named as one of the best places to live in Britain.
Castle Combe was only beaten to the top spot in Britain's best villages by West Meon in Hampshire.
And the Bath and North East Somerset village of Chew Magna was not far behind, placed third in The Times 30 best village in Britain survey.
A number of experts studied the latest price date to come up with a best village top 30.
This included schools, transport and factors forging a good neighbourhood, according to The Times Property and Money Editor Anne Ashworth.
So what made living in Castle Combe so appealing?
The experts said Castle Combe was packed with beautiful stones houses, the quintessential Cotswold village and a popular Hollywood film location, recently featured in Steve Spielberg's War Horse.
"There is a good village shop and a bustling 14th century pub called the White Hart.
"The prettiest views of the village are from across the bridge by the old weavers' cottage," the paper said.
A four-bedroom stone cottage is said to sell from £500,000 in the village which is popular with Bath commuters.
Chew Magna also won praise.
"Chew Magna has only 1,200 residents yet it has two banks, a Michelin-starred pub, the Pony and Trap, and nearby Chew Valley School, a comprehensive, is rated as 'outstanding'."
However, the paper warned prices are on the up and the village was hit by flooding last year.
According to the survey Chew Magna is home to wealthy families and Bristol and Bath commuters and comedian Dr Phil Hammond has a house in the village.
House prices are said to be £450,000 for a family home and £750,000 for a large Georgian or Victorian property.
Wiltshire proved a particular favourite with the experts with three villages named in the top 30.
Following Castle Combe, Sherston was named fifth and Great Somerford 21st.
