Supporters and regulars of the Bell Inn are invited to special screenings of a film that celebrates everything about the pub.
The short film, Saved by the Bell, has been made by former Ralph Allen School pupil, Hattie Knight, 22, in response to the pub being put up for sale.
Miss Knight started the project last autumn in an attempt to protect the pub's unique character when it is sold to new owners.
She said the film would be given to the new owners in hope they will not want to change the pub.
There will be three screenings of the film this Saturday at the Walcot Street pub at 2pm, 5pm and 8pm. Tickets are free but donations are being encouraged with all money raised going to a community buyout scheme.
The 8pm screening will be a premiere event, with live bands and a question and answer session about the community buyout. There will also be merchandise for sale such as DVDs, posters and badges.
A community co-operative, launched to enable local people to buy the pub, has had a good early response to its share plan. Steve Henwood, who is involved in the scheme, which aim to raise the £925,000 asking price, said so far £100,000 had been given, with a further £100,000 pledged.
Shares are available from £500 to £20,000. Any investment benefits from the Enterprise Investment Scheme, entitling its holders to 30 per cent relief on income tax liability.
The share offer is available until March 20 because the pub's current owner Ian Wood wants the sale to go through by the end of the financial year.
Property consultants James A Baker are marketing the pub. Spokesman George Walker said: "Interest in the Bell remains high and we have received a number of offers which have been rejected. We do not currently have a deadline for bids and the property will be sold when an acceptable offer is received from a suitable purchaser."
