Bath Rugby head coach Mike Ford has urged England not to try to change Semesa Rokoduguni following the winger's first senior international call-up.
Fijian-born winger Rokoduguni was one of seven Bath players named in the 33-man squad by head coach Stuart Lancaster for their four Test matches next month.
England play New Zealand, South Africa, Samoa and Australia on consecutive weekends in November, kicking off a crucial 12 months which culminate in the 2015 World Cup on home soil.
Tighthead prop Davey Wilson, hooker Rob Webber and lock Dave Attwood all retain their places in the Red Rose camp. Bath fly-half George Ford is also selected, alongside centre partners Kyle Eastmond and Jonathan Joseph.
Rokoduguni is also a Lance Corporal with the Royal Scots Dragoon Guards and qualifies for England on residency grounds.
He has been at Bath since late 2012 and played for England against the Barbarians earlier this year.
Bath boss Ford said: "He's certainly been the form winger in the Premiership over the last six or seven games but you'll only know if he's ready by playing him. You just have to put him out there and see if he can step up to that level.
"I've spoken to Stuart about his strengths and potential weaknesses and just said concentrate on what he can do rather than what he can't do because he's been exceptional this year.
"You've just got to tell him to play his own game and not put too much pressure on him.
"He's playing well because of what he's doing at Bath and the key for England is to get him to do the same.
"If Stuart is thinking of picking him no doubt he'll ring me up and ask how to get the best out of him because we're working with him every day.
"You don't try and change him into something he's not. He's a free spirit and freestyle kind of player, that's what makes him exciting."
Ford first took notice of Rokoduguni's talents in an overseas friendly in 2012 while on the staff at Newcastle Falcons alongside former Bath director of rugby Gary Gold.
When the duo headed for The Rec that summer they were quick to snap him up and offered Rokoduguni a full-time deal ahead of the 2013-14 season.
"We spotted him in a game in Portugal when he was playing for the Army," Ford recalled.
"We were 31-0 up and I was thinking we were going to get 80 but Roko scored three tries and it was 31-31.
"Gary and I came to Bath and John Wells stayed at Newcastle so there was a bit of a fight but luckily we got him."
