Bath barrister Peter Blair QC, 53, is to be appointed by the Queen as a Circuit Judge.
He will be trying civil and criminal cases at the Law Courts in Swindon from October 1
His position as Head of Chambers at Guildhall Chambers will be taken by fellow Bath resident James Townsend, 57, a specialist in clinical negligence law and medical disciplinary proceedings.
