Bath singer-songwriter Gabrielle Aplin has been tipped among the "ones to watch" for 2013 as she builds on her stunning success of last year. The former City of Bath College student finished the year on top of the charts when her cover of Frankie Goes to Hollywood The Power of Love went to No 1. Gabrielle is set to follow up the single, used as the soundtrack for the John Lewis' Christmas television advertising campaign, by releasing her debut album, English Rain, in April. Azealia Banks, The Weekend Haim, A$AP Rocky, Frank Ocean, Hunter Hayes and Josh Kumra have also been named as rising starts by UK music website Muzo TV. And after a year of record breaking in the music industry, 2013 could be just as exciting, according to Muzo. Coldplay secured the first number one of 2012 with their single Paradise, which spent nine weeks in the UK Top 20 Singles Chart and international pop princess Rihanna broke the record for becoming the first female artist to have number one singles in six consecutive years.

Tinie Tempah, We Are Young by Fun, Pay Phone by Maroon 5 and Spectrum by Florence and the Machine. REBECCA RYAN
