Colombia international defender Eder Balanta has been given the go-ahead to leave Argentina giants River Plate and join Liverpool in a £4.3million deal.
That is according to Metro, who report that River Plate have reduced their original asking fee of £8million to ensure they receive the payment in full rather than instalments.
Balanta is seen as a possible replacement for Daniel Agger, who has been linked with a move away from Anfield to Arsenal.
