GCSE results: St Mark's School in Bath

Staff and pupils at St Mark's School, in Larkhall, are celebrating a successful batch of GCSE results this summer.

Acting head teacher Chris Ryan said: "We are thrilled that our students have performed so well and congratulate them on their successes.

"We are particularly delighted with the progress made by our students in English against a national picture where English has been an issue.

"There have also been notable achievements by many of our students in sciences, geography, history and RE. Our students have worked hard and can be very proud of themselves."

Notable individual results include head student Kiera Brook, who achieved an A grade in AS-level English language and literature and a C grade in AS-level science and society, both taken a year early.

Kiera also gained 12 A*- C grades at GCSE including six A* and As.

Meanwhile, Gemma Meredith achieved ten A* - C grades at GCSE which comprised A* grades in both geography and history and A grades in core and additional science, business studies, French, home economics and mathematics.
