Holly Rush continued her build-up to the Ultravasan 90k race in Sweden with an impressive performance in the Salisbury 50k.
Sunday's race was part of a trail-running festival that included everything from 5k through to the marathon the demanding 50k challenge.
"I had done this race years ago and was amazed by how much the event had grown – thousands of runners turned out," said former British marathon international Rush.
The Team Bath ace was using the event to experiment on her race nutrition and to run at the heart rate which she will be aiming for in Sweden on Saturday week.
It proved to be successful as Rush followed up her win in the recent Bath trail marathon with another solid victory to prove she is in great shape.
"I was pleasantly surprised to finish comfortably in 3hrs 43mins, all within my HR range" added Rush.
"I could have done with wearing trail shoes for the first half as I was slipping and sliding on the sticky trails due to the heavy rain but I was grateful for the cushioning in the second half on the harder, rocky paths."
That run gave Rush fifth place overall and the women's prize in a race won by Commonwealth Games marathon runner Steve Way – just two weeks after his tenth place in Glasgow.
Corsham Running Club's Damian Hall won the Lacock Abbey 10k multi-terrain race on Saturday in 37mins 27secs.
Team Bath's Claire Forster clocked 49:11 to finish eighth in the women's race, which was won by Jo-Anne Gready in 45:38.
