Tour of Britain comes to Bath in just a month's time

In just a month's time the world's top cyclists will speed through Bath as the city hosts one of the stages of the Tour of Britain.

Cyclists will set off on the Tour's sixth stage on Friday September 12.

They will set off from the Royal Avenue, which runs through Royal Victoria Park and underneath the Royal Crescent, before completing a lap through the streets of Bath.

The race will take in The Circus, Milsom Street, The Guildhall, Pultney Bridge, as well as The Roman Baths and Pump Room.

Cycling fans will be especially excited to hear Sir Bradley Wiggins is returning to defend his title.

The Tour of Britain, September 7-14

Stage One – Liverpool 104.8km

Stage Two – Knowsley to Llandudno 201km

Stage Three – Newtown to The Tumble 179.7km

Stage Four – Worcester to Bristol 184.6km

Stage Five – Exmouth to Exeter 177.3km

Stage Six – Bath to Hemel Hempstead 205.7km

Stage Seven – Camberley to Brighton 226km

Stage Eight A – London individual time trial 8.8km

Stage Eight B – London circuit race 88.8km
