Director of football Adie Britton gives his take on Bath City's promotion prospects and the summer arrivals at Twerton Park...
I think we've got a very good chance of just getting in the play-offs. We've got the quality; the big question mark is the depth of the squad.
My belief is there's more quality than the season we went up, certainly more potential. But we'll have to be very, very lucky with injuries because back then we did have 18 or 19 players and it makes a big difference.
I think Ebbsfleet will be the favourites. They're always strong, they're full-time and they have a huge budget.
Sutton have made a lot of changes and I'm not sure what to expect from them but you'd think they'd aim to be challenging again, and sides like Bromley and Havant are always in the mix.
We had close games against those sorts of teams last season and certainly had our chances.
We had two tight matches with Sutton and Ebbsfleet, and two narrow defeats to Eastleigh, who were champions. Maybe we just need to turn those promising performances into victories.
Of the side that will go out there on the first day of the season, I think the only one who was with us in the Conference Premier is Sekani Simpson.
We've changed it over three seasons and it's been a little bit painful at times but it has continuously improved.
All the lads that have come in have done really well and I think the signings we've made this summer have put is in a stronger position than where we were at this stage last year.
I signed Martin Slocombe here from Bristol City six or seven years ago when he'd just come out of the first team after one year as a pro.
He had one season here and we thought that was the beginning of a really good career but he then chose to move on as he was made a fantastic offer financially by another club.
Myself and Lee Howells have admired him tremendously over the years and he's certainly improved as he's travelled around.
Chas Hemmings and Ash Kington were both playing at Clevedon two years ago and I couldn't fail to watch a lot of them.
I saw Ash when he left Bristol City, then saw him at Oxford City and you could see improvement all the time.
Chas has done very, very well for the last 18 months or so at Weston and in the games against us last year he caused a lot of problems.
Everyone in the area knows Frankie Artus' talents. He spent some pre-season with us when we were in the Conference but he had an offer from Grimsby that couldn't be turned down. Whilst he did well there he wanted to come back home and I guess the timing was right.
We are still talking to Pat Keary and we're hoping to sign him on. When we had a call at the start of the summer to see if he could come training with us, we weren't quite sure what to expect but when myself and Lee Howells looked at him we both thought: "This lad's got something about him."
Lee has been working really hard in training and the players are looking really sharp, so we're excited to get going.
We've probably had the most difficult set of friendlies we've had in my time here against league opposition and we've done very well against all of them.
But, in truth, all you hope in pre-season is that everyone gets over the white line on the first day in good shape.
