England's mixed badminton squad - featuring University of Bath graduate Heather Olver - had to be content with silver at the Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games on Monday.
Malaysia claimed gold after building an unassailable 3-1 lead in the best-of-five final at the Emirates Arena in Glasgow.
Olver - who also won team bronze with England in the Delhi 2010 Games - did not feature in the knockout stages, which included a 3-1 quarter-final victory over Sri Lanka and a 3-0 semi-final success against India.
However, the coach education and sports development graduate did have a 100 per cent record in the group stages, teaming up with Kate Robertshaw to win the women's doubles rubber 21-7 21-10 in England's opening 5-0 defeat of Northern Ireland.
Mauritius were also whitewashed in the next Group F match, with Olver and Chris Langridge winning their mixed doubles match 21-7 21-9.
And there was a familiar opponent across the net when Olver and Langridge helped England record a 5-0 win over Jersey by beating Mark Constable and another Bath graduate, Mariana Agathangelou, 21-7 21-13.
Olver will be hoping for more success in Glasgow as she competes in the doubles competitions along with Robertshaw and Langridge.
