Chris Walker-Hebborn narrowly failed to secure a third Glasgow 2014 medal as he finished fourth in Sunday night's 50m backstroke final.
The champion over 100m was the second-fastest qualifier going into the final but clocked 25.14secs to finish behind Australian duo Ben Treffers (24.67) and Mitch Larkin (24.80) and fellow Englishman Liam Tancock (24.98).
Fellow Bath swimmer Joe Roebuck missed out on a place in the 100m butterfly final earlier in the evening.
He came sixth in a semi-final won by London 2012 hero Chad Le Clos, clocking 53.29.
In the 100m freestyle, Wales' Calum Jarvis also failed to qualify from his semi-final after finishing fifth in 50.09.
