Chris Walker-Hebborn set up the possibility of a golden Glasgow 2014 double by easing into Sunday night's 50m backstroke final (8.59pm).
The Bath-based 24-year-old followed up Friday night's 100m backstroke triumph at Tollcross by winning heat five in 25.12secs the following morning.
In Saturday night's semis, he finished as the runner-up in his semi-final to qualify second fastest for the final. Walker-Hebborn clocked 24.92 in finishing behind Ben Treffers of Ausralia (24.78).
Reflecting on the quick turnaround between events, Walker-Hebborn said: "I didn't get back into the village until 11.30pm and then I was talking to my parents.
"By the time I got to my room I just couldn't switch off so I think it was about 3.30am that I finally fell asleep.
"I'm feeling confident, I would like to podium in this event as well.
"But the 50 is a bit more of a splash and dash so it's harder to pinpoint how it's going to finish."
Fellow Bath swimmer Joe Roebuck was unable to progress beyond the heats of the 200m butterfly, however.
He came fourth in the first heat, with his time of 1min 59.10 the tenth best in the overall field.
