Lynne Hutchison rounded off her rhythmic gymnastics programme at the Commonwealth Games with a fifth-place finish in the individual ribbon competition.
Francesca Jones triumphed in the event to ensure she rounded off her career with a gold medal – Wales' first at Glasgow 2014.
Jones scored 14.500 for an emotional victory, while City of Bath Rhythmic Gymnastics Club member Hutchison totalled 13.550 to finish just behind bronze medallist Patricia Bezzoubenko of Canada (13.800).
Hutchison said: "I wanted it for everyone supporting me. The ribbon means a lot to me so I had to give it the right emotion.
"I felt like I achieved something when I came within 0.3 points of a medal. I already achieved and exceeded what I thought I could do.
"I've enjoyed myself," she added. "At the start of it, no one expected me to get through, let alone be in the finals.
"My doctors, coaches and everyone didn't think I would do it and I've done more than I ever thought I could."
