A man fighting for his life in hospital after being found with serious head injuries in Bath has been named by police.
Detectives tonight renewed an appeal for witnesses and information after the discovery of 38-year-old Paul Keightley in the early hours of this morning.
Mr Keightley was found at around 3.50am in Westmoreland Station Road close to the Jewsons builders merchants - nearly four hours after he had left a pub just a few hundred yards away.
Mr Keightley, who lives locally, was in a serious condition in hospital tonight.
He had been last seen at 11.55pm last night as he left the Green Park Tavern pub in Lower Bristol Road.
Police tonight issued a picture of Mr Keightley, who had been wearing a smart grey shirt and trousers, in the hope of jogging people's memories about the sequence of events which led to his injuries.
The discovery prompted a major police operation, with Jewsons having to close this morning, and local gardens searched.
This afternoon, there were police vehicles at the scene, with Jewsons still closed and the Bath Trade Park cordoned off.
Police are still trying to work out whether Mr Keightley was the victim of an attack or had had an accident.
Anyone with any information or who saw Mr Keightley after he left the pub is asked to contact police on 101 or call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
