Brazil boss Luiz Felipe Scolari is a big fan of second-round opponents Chile – and warned they have the potential to gatecrash his country's World Cup party in Belo Horizonte on Saturday.

Chile, who beat and finished above champions Spain in Group B, were defeated 3-0 by Brazil at the same stage of the competition in South Africa in 2010.

And nthe past clearly favours Brazil. Chile have not beaten the hosts in 14 years and never on Brazilian turf, let alone at their own World Cup.

Scolari said: "We can improve a bit more and we will have to do so if we want to overcome Chile, who are good. They have malice, they are organised and have a lot of quality.

"I liked the way my team played. The fact is that we have improved in our passing and our marking. We still need to put more pressure on midfield."

A nation expects at the Estadio Mineirao but according to Barcelona star Alexis Sanchez, it will be the whole of Chile who are dancing on the streets come the final whistle.

Sanchez could leave the Nou Camp this summer and is developing a long string of suitors after his impressive displays for La Roja so far, including a strike in victory over Australia.

And the 25-year-old is promising Chile will add to their famous Spanish scalp by breaking Brazilian hearts this weekend.

"First of all, we are going to win the game," Sanchez said.

"We came here to make history and that's what we're doing.

"We already beat the world champions, winning the first match. We stumbled against the Netherlands but it was also useful to improve upon our mistakes.

"On Saturday we're going to try to win the match and to keep accomplishing the dream that we all want, which is to win the World Cup."
