Music fans at Glastonbury had to endure a power cut this evening which forced the Pyramid Stage to close.

Thousands of fans were enjoying watching Rudimental's set when messages flashed up on the big screens, before the group were taken off stage.

The stage was soon re-opened and Lily Allen took to the stage at around 7.00pm.

There have been lightning strikes in the area.

During the unexpected interval, Alex Brown from Bath said that despite the bad weather, people remained in good spirits.

"It's been raining like mad, and we are soaked. It's been an experience though and we are staying in a good mood. The atmosphere here is still amazing," he said.

Rudimental had returned to the stage and waved at the crowd before leaving again with their set cut short.

Elbow are due to follow Lily Allen, before tonight's headline act Arcade Fire.
