Four cyclists from Corsham are returning to the UK after completing the Race Across America challenge.
Former Bath Rugby flanker John Hall captained his team of cyclists over 3,000 miles from California to Maryland in seven days, nine hours and 42 minutes.
They completed the Race Across America challenge, in support of Asthma UK.
Mr Hall said he is proud of everyone's efforts which included a 13 volunteer support crew.
"The team have been amazing. Fitness and logistics were planned meticulously but nothing prepared us for the sleep deprivation and absolute fatigue.
"We have been lucky to get a hour or so's sleep here and there but usually it's a case of 40 winks in the back of the support vehicle before we are off again."
The team, known as the London Pride Spinhalers, also include cyclists Martyn Grant, Sir James Fuller and David Shephard.
Vehicle driver Jeff Thomas' daughter died at the age of 10-years-old after suffering a sudden asthma attack.
Mr Thomas said he is overwhelmed by the efforts of the team who are raising money for Asthma UK.
"This race is just part of a legacy for Antonia, the awareness and funds raised for Asthma UK will help towards our goal to create a world where asthma is no longer a daily battle for sufferers and where no one dies from this condition.
"Too many times you hear it's 'just asthma', but asthma claimed our beautiful young daughter's life and over half of asthma deaths could be avoided if people were better prepared and given the correct education and medicines," he said.
A fundraising Gala event held at Hartham Park before the team went to America raised £37,000.
With the support of friends and well-wishers the team is on track to raise over £50,000 for Asthma UK.
