Roy Hodgson is the right man to lead England in their European Championship 2016 European Championship campaign, according to keeper Joe Hart.
Football Association chairman Greg Dyke has already backed the 66-year-old former West Brom and Fulham chief, despite England crashing out of the World Cup in the group stages for the first time since 1958.
And Manchester City number one Hart said: "Me personally, I speak for the players when I say we are proud to play for Roy Hodgson.
"He is a great manager, a very passionate man, and someone I have an awful lot of respect for. I hope to continue playing for him.
"We haven't scored enough goals and let too many in. We are going to dissect it but we have committed our lives to this tournament, thrown everything we can at it.
"I can speak on behalf of the lads that we've not left anything to chance, we have tried everything.
"We have just not had the main stat, which is results.
England took their second-youngest ever World Cup squad to Brazil, with Raheem Sterling and Ross Barkley offering hope for the future.
"We have bags of quality, bags of people coming through," Hart added.
"We have great leaders, great experienced players in that dressing room, and have just come up short in those two games.
"You can't do that in a World Cup, you can't come up short in two games."
