Phil Walsh hopes to strike a work/life balance during the summer which will allow him to build up more great memories at Bath City.
The 30-year-old striker turned defender was only on the losing side once in 11 games after rejoining City on loan from Margate in March.
Despite living in East London, where he works as
a PE teacher, the former Dagenham & Redbridge man would like to join City for the 2014-15 campaign – but admits a few things need to be resolved first.
"I'd love to play for Bath but life is bit more complicated than that," said Walsh, who made more than 100 appearances for City during his initial spell at Twerton Park between 2005 and 2008.
"I'm living with my girlfriend in a place where everyone is settled but you can always work things around, I've got a couple of months to wangle that.
"The travelling hasn't been too bad and I've got to see a lot more of my family in Bristol so I've really enjoyed that.
"I love playing at Twerton Park and we seemed to have home game after home game, with the sun shining all the time, so these have all been good memories for me.
"It was a big change – I was on the other side of the
country playing in a totally different position, up front for Margate, so it has been really different.
"I've enjoyed every minute, apart from Gosport obviously. I played in 11 matches so to only be disappointed in one of them is not bad.
"Seventh wasn't a bad finish. We were in the same position when I arrived but all of the other teams around us had games in hand, so to stay there and take our play-off push into the last week was a really good achievement.
"I remember speaking to Adie a couple of years ago when I was at Dagenham and discussing how momentum is probably the biggest thing in football, so City have to take this momentum into next season whether I am here or not."
Walsh said he had yet to receive an offer from City but there seems little doubt one will come, with director of football Adie Britton delighted by his impact since returning.
"Since Phil has come in, the dynamic of the back four has felt a lot better for whatever reason," he said.
"Defensively it wasn't Mark Preece individually that was the problem, it was just the balance wasn't quite right.
"Phil has been a big plus for us and it would be nice to think he would stick around but that's a conversation yet to be had.
"It's difficult geographically because of where he lives in East London so I guess it will come down to his position personally."
