Adults are being encouraged to give the sport of rounders another go with the launch of a new league in Bath.
The new mixed social rounders league will play matches at Combe Down Rugby Club on Wednesday evenings from May 14 until July 16 – excluding May 28 – starting at 6.30pm.
There will be weekly awards and prizes presented in the bar after each session, with the emphasis on social engagement and enjoyment rather than deadly serious competition.
Organisers suggest teams could be set up in streets, workplaces, clubs or other organisations.
Ladies' sessions are also being organised, on Tuesday mornings at Southdown Junior School from 9.30am to 10.30am at £3 per session and on Friday mornings at Combe Down Rugby Club at the same time and price.
These sessions are not formal ones, and women can just turn up and play.
Further information about the league and the ladies' sessions can be obtained by emailing Sophie Calvert on scalvert@sasp.co.uk.
