Bath Rugby have no complaints over George Ford's yellow card against Worcester Warriors

Bath Rugby first-team coach Toby Booth had no complaints with the yellow card shown to George Ford during Saturday's hard-fought 32-20 victory over Worcester Warriors in the Aviva Premiership. Fly-half Ford was deemed to have taken out Warriors winger David Lemi in the air midway through the second half at The Rec and referee Matthew Carley sent him to the sin-bin. Worcester flanker Sam Betty was shown yellow for a similar challenge on Bath winger Horacio Agulla just before half-time and Booth said it is as a result of a new guidelines sent to referees. Booth said: "To be fair to the referee, we've received a directive this week – there's been some clarification around contests in the air. "The upshot of it is, unless two people are in the air contesting, irrespective of whether someone is looking at someone or not, if that collision occurs when one person is on the floor, that person is getting a minimum yellow card. "If the player lands on his head, it'll be a red card. So the refs have got nowhere else to go. The referee was consistent – he did the same at the other end." The victory moved Bath up to third in the Premiership table and puts them in a strong position to finish in the end-of-season play-off places. Mike Ford's side have a six-point advantage over fifth-placed Harlequins with two league games remaining.
