Rogers Funfair is finally back in Victoria Park and drawing large crowds after falling foul to heavy rain last year.
Fairground manager Stephen Fullwood said: "We're very pleased to be back in Bath, we were all very disappointed when we couldn't hold the fair last year due to the wet weather.
"The Rogers family has been coming to this park for well over 50 years and you can see that influence around you.
"We've got our fingers crossed for a big turnout with the beautiful weather."
The fair was cancelled last year after a Bath and North East Somerset Council spokesman announced it would cause too much damage to the wet ground.
Local resident Jo Hooson said: "I have been coming here for years and years.
"I've brought my daughter down and it's excellent."
Her daughter Evie Baldock, 11, was highly impressed with the selection of rides on offer: "The bumper cars are really good fun and so are the waltzers.
There are eight large rides on offer, including Freddy's revenge, Terminator and Crazy cage.
There are also many smaller rides for younger children.
This year's new additions include a bungee trampoline and a brand new helter skelter.
The usual line-up of candy floss and hot dog stalls is also in full force.
Harriet Tilly, who visited the fair with her eight-year-old son Cameron, said: "We're enjoying it, it's a bit of entertainment for the kids, the staff are all very friendly and it's just a fantastic family day out."
Rogers Funfair will remain in Bath until April 27.
