Ellen DeGeneres smashed Twitter records last night by posting a "selfie" which went viral and became the most retweeted photo on the social media site.
The Oscars host labelled the picture as the "best photo ever" as she posed with some of Hollywood's superstars including, Brad Pitt, Angelina Jolie, Bradley Cooper and Jennifer Lawrence.
Ellen's picture was retweeted 779,295 times in just half an hour, beating the previous record holder US Preisdent Barack Obama and a picture of him hugging the First Lady Michelle Obama following his re-election in 2012.
Twitter was even forced to apologise after the site crashed momentarily as it failed to keep up with the public's appetite to see the "selfie".
So far the post has been retweeted well over 2,000,000 times.

Ellen was praised for her hosting skills as she entertained her the Oscars ceremony audience with ease.
She even surprised the millions watching by taking a pizza delivery halfway through the evening and proceeded to hand out slices to stars such as Martin Scorsese and Jared Leto.
The Oscars celebrated another successful evening, with 12 Years a Slave winning best picture, Matthew McConaughey taking the leading actor gong for Dallas Buyers Club and Cate Blanchett winning best actress in Blue Jasmine.
Candidates for the best-dressed list on the red carpet included Sandra Bullock, Kate Hudson and Lupita Nyongo. All three actresses dazzled the paparazzi with long, sweeping gowns.
Pharrell Williams with 'Happy' and Idina Menzel with 'Let It Go' entertained the Hollywood A-list audience, with the latter going on to win the Oscar for Best Original Song.
