Davey Wilson is in contention to return to action for Bath Rugby after almost two months out with a calf injury.
The England international prop has not played since the Amlin Cup group game at home to Mogliano in mid-December but could make his comeback this weekend.
Bath host Newcastle Falcons in the Aviva Premiership on Saturday and Wilson has played an active part in training at the club's Farleigh House headquarters this week.
First-team coach Neal Hatley says a final decision on whether the 28-year-old can feature at The Rec will be made tomorrow.
"Davey trained yesterday and today. We'll assess him and see how he feels after that," said forwards boss Hatley.
"We've got some unbelievably big games coming up and we're very fortunate that we've got people like Juan Pablo Orlandi, Ant Perenise and Kane Palma-Newport.
"We're not going to rush Davey back for the sake of it. We've been very patient with him and we want to make sure in his head he is confident in that calf injury.
"If he comes through tomorrow when we assess him again and it's all good, then we'd like to be able to use him at the weekend."
Last month Wilson was retained in England's Elite Player Squad by head coach Stuart Lancaster ahead of the Six Nations.
Wilson's calf injury ruled him out of last weekend's championship opener away against France as well as Saturday's trip to Scotland.
If he can prove his fitness for Bath, Hatley sees no reason why the loosehead cannot add to his 31 caps later in the tournament.
Hatley said: "I know England will be in a hurry to try to get him back just because of the immense value he brings as a scrummager."
