Top 10: The best views in Bath

So what IS the best view in Bath? It's a subject discussed every week in our My Bath question and answer slot. And in a city with dozens of breath-taking vantage points, there's no shortage of choice. Here is the Chronicle's best stab at a top ten - in no particular order. But what do YOU reckon? * Alexandra Park: A serious contender for the number one spot, we feel, and offering panoramic views of the north of the city. Makes Bath something of a train set, too, with plenty of opportunity to watch 125s come and go. * Camden: The view from Camden Crescent and Camden Road is certainly impressive, although, sadly the one from nearby Perfect View is now less so, thanks to tree growth. * The Royal Crescent from Royal Victoria Park: Stunning, particularly in the early morning, and a firm favourite with overseas tourists. Impressionist-turned-TV presenter Rory Bremner rated it the best view in Bath when he filmed the series Great British Views last year. * Prior Park: Any view that includes the Palladian bridge in the gardens has to be a contender. * Sydney Gardens: The Holburne Museum's much-talked-about extension will catch the eye (and the light) if you walk through Sydney Gardens towards Great Pulteney Street. * The Circus: Designed by John Wood the Elder in 1754 and completed in 1768 by his son John Wood the Younger, this is another tourist hotspot, and one described by architectural historian Dan Cruickshank as one of Britain's five best buildings. * Pulteney Bridge from Grand Parade: A world-beating eyeful of beauty, combining rushing water with one of the planet's most unusual structures. * The Kennet and Avon Canal at Widcombe: On a balmy summer's evening, a stroll here is always a winner. * Bath Abbey: Another architectural gem, and a place of calm amid the city's chaos. It also offers its own amazing views through its Tower Tours. One view of the church which takes the breath away is that from the Great Bath at the Roman Baths, particularly at night. * Beckford's Tower: Although the tower itself is striking in its own unique neo-classical way, it is the view from it across the city that captures the imagination. Have we forgotten a viewpoint? We've not fitted in the view of Bath from the London train, Great Pulteney Street, or Lansdown Place. Do you agree or disagree with our list?
