Anya Shrubsole wait goes on as Australia fight back against England in Women's Ashes

Bath cricketer Anya Shrubsole has three more chances to help England retain the Women's Ashes after they lost the third one-day international to Australia this morning. England seemed to have all but wrapped up the series with victory in the only Test match and the first ODI, giving them an 8-0 lead in the points-based series. However, the Aussies have kept the series alive by winning the next two ODIs - worth two points each - and England must win one of the remaining three Twenty20 fixtures, also worth two each, to secure overall victory. Bowling specialist Shrubsole was not needed as England recorded 268-4 from their 50 overs, which looked like it would be enough when the hosts still needed 70 from the final eight overs, with just four wickets remaining. However, they did not lose another wicket and completed the win in the final over, with three balls remaining. Shrubsole finished with figures of 0-53 from her ten overs, including one maiden. The first of the T20 matches is in Hobart on Wednesday.
