Peasedown St John Primary School pupils bid to grow their school food

Pupils at Peasedown St John Primary School are hoping their horticultural efforts will blossom.

Members of its Greenfingers group have been given a helping hand by Hillier's Garden Centre in their efforts to grow herbs in each classroom which they hope will be used in school meals.

They were given plant pots, herbs and potting compost to get the project under way by centre manager Chris Wilde.

Teacher Jennie Rainsford said pupils would plant and look after them.
