Television and radio presenter Fearne Cotton, 32, gave up alcohol five years ago and although she admits she wasn't a big drinker in the first place, says she has felt "brilliant" since quitting.
Harry Potter star Daniel Radcliffe became teetotal in 2010 after become concerned about how much he was drinking and the effect it had on him. In a magazine interview at the time he said he blacked out almost every time he got drunk.
Former spin doctor Alastair Campbell realised he had an alcohol problem in 1986, caused by his stressful job as a Fleet Street journalist, and gave up drinking. In 2012 he presented an edition of Panorama entitled Britain's Hidden Alcoholics, and his latest book My Name Is... tells the story of a 17-year-old battling alcohol addiction.
